Abstract
Biodegradation of dimethyl sulfide (DMS) was studied in a batch culture using Gordonia sihwaniensis PKL-1 isolated from a compost biofilter after 100 days of operation for the removal of volatile organic compounds. Optimal pH and temperature for the removal of DMS were 7 and , respectively. The Michaelis-Menten kinetic constants for DMS removal, and , were 0.0016 mg/(mg-protein)¤ýhr, and 8.05 mg/L, respectively.
